Emmett One Month

3:29 AM

Emmett Lane's first month has been the craziest of my life. A week after his birth I was diagnosed with Bell's palsy, which last 9 very long, tough days. The hardest part was not being able to smile at my babies. 😔 I was the rare case the the entire face has paralysis. Which made eating, talking, crying & smiling difficult.

Aside from the Bell's Palsy, this month was amazing. Karleigh has had a tough time adjusting to Emmett but she gets better everyday. She likes to 'share' toys bY throwing them at him or be sweet by smacking him in the head. 😬 I'm so glad we have both of them. Our family feels complete & perfect. Everyday I find myself thanking God for my two little blessings.

Emmett has been awesome at breast feeding. He took right too it & has an awesome latch. He nurses probably 15 times a day. Waking only twice at night. Which I greatly appreciate. He refuses to sleep anywhere but our bed... Little stinker. But that's fine, we don't mind cosleeping. He's also a little poop machine. (4-6 times a day!)

He's not a fan of tummy time but enjoys sitting up to watch sissy play. I can't wait for them to be able to play together. My heart already melts when she holds him.

Emmett has attended church from 5 days old! It was his first outing. 😊 He's an angel in the Ergo. Sleeps during the service. I'm so glad. In the first 3 weeks I questioned him being colicky because he cried so much but once I cut out dairy mainly from my diet, he's been such a sweetheart. I'm so glad.

I can't wait to watch these two grow together. What a blessing having these two sweethearts to spend my days with.
