Karleigh turns 2

Here it is March already! This year is just flying by! My baby girl is 2 years old. -HOLY COW- Her life is happening so quickly! Of course, to celebrate this monumental event in my sweet Karleigh's life her daddy and I decided that we needed to throw her a party. -duh- Well Karleigh's favorite thing right now is Monster's Inc and Monster's University. Thus the theme for her party was decided.
When I do a party of any sort, I don't think I know how to just do a little get together. I had to decorate everything and kind of lose my mind. Well my daughter's birthday party was no exception. For weeks and weeks we planned and gathered things and made decorations. Then one day, I was in Wal-Mart looking in the party section and I see so much Monster's University stuff! So we snagged a few items to help bring this party to life. It turned out so awesome!

So Karleigh's favorite foods are Chicken alfredo, veggies and pizza. So for her party we made all of her favorites! Her nana made the chicken alfredo and it was AMAZING. -I wish there was more left overs- I made a salad topping tray out of a veggie tray.. This way everyone's salad was exactly what they wanted. The pizza was mainly for the very active kids running around and playing outside. I got all of the green serving ware from the dollar store! -seriously WOAH!- It went right with our theme!

Now her party wouldn't have been a party without some entertainment for the kids! We set up the food and cake inside we had the gifts as well as a tent with 2 tables under it. On the two tables we rolled out some Melissa & Doug paint paper for the kids to draw on while they ate. We also got some Monster University crayons, stickers, bubbles and sully masks and set them on the table as well. All of which were a hit! I also did my own spin of pin the tail on the donkey.. Pin the Eye on Mike! I painted Mike on a piece of Foam board and strung him up by some ribbon. The eyes came in a decoration pack I got from Wal Mart but could easily be made with construction paper or even printed off and cut out.
To add a little something special for each of Karleigh's guest, I made Monster's University Student/Staff ID cards with each person's name and picture on them. ( I stalked their facebooks for the images) We laminated them and put them on ribbon for everyone to wear. They were a huge success. Everyone loved them! -A great keepsake to remember her special day!
Karleigh got so many gifts for her birthday. Our families spoiled her rotten. We are so very grateful to each person who came, not only for their gifts but for the time they spend with our sweet girl. It was truly a special day for her. Each and every time I looked down at her I could see her happiness. She's such a special girl to our family. I'm grateful that we have so many wonderful people to share her with!
