Dear Karleigh,

Finding out you were growing inside of me was the greatest news ever. A few short months after Uncle Mark passed away I found out you would be blessing us with your arrival in February. I told daddy by giving him a newborn size onsie shirt that said Mommy & Daddy Love Me for you to wear in the hospital. Daddy was shocked and a little scared at first. Lets face it, we all were scared. We weren't exactly ready for you to come at that time. But we worked hard and moved back from AL to FL and prepared for you arrival. Being pregnant with you was the most amazing experience. I remember all your little flutters and kicks. I loved watching my belly grow and seeing you at our ultrasound appointments with Dr Whitaker, who by the way your daddy and I loved. The first trimester your daddy called a semester! :O Clearly he needed a little coaching when it came to babies. We made our first Dr appointment at 9weeks 5days. You were a tiny and perfect. We saw you and heard your heart and fell so deeply in love with you that words cannot express the happiness the flooded inside of me. We had regular visits with the Dr every 2-4 weeks. Daddy only missed one appointment.

The first trimester I had terrible morning sickness. I ate ginger snaps and pepermints and sprite like the were going out of style. I had food aversions to everything. Especially meat and eggs. YUCK. But I made it through and in the second trimester my worry that something would happen to you eased and the nausea disappeared. From there on out was cake. You moved all the time and sat so high I could feel you on my ribs. It was magical.

After 15weeks 5days we had a Dr appointment and begged Dr W to check if you were a boy or girl. I was so sure you were a boy! I wanted to know if your name was Karleigh or Lane. And I wanted to start buying things for my little peanut! well turns out....

So of course we went out and bought you tons of girly clothes and planned your nursery and registered. Your aunts and nana threw us a baby shower in the 3rd trimester and so did your gigi!

I loved having you in my belly for Thanksgiving and Christmas and Valentines day. Knowing I was giving you life and keeping yous safe was wonderful feeling. I will always have loved you first. Before I ever saw you I felt like I knew you. <3

Love,
Mommy
