Thanksgiving 2015

November slipped through my fingers. Thanksgiving came and went in a flash. We had a lovely holiday with out family. It was extra special this year because it was our precious baby, Leighton's, very first Thanksgiving!
We decided to go a day early to Alabama and spend this holiday with Justin's Mawmaw! Uncle Vince came in town so we got to spend some good time with him by coming up a day early. Justin was able to spend time with the guys while I spent time with the Reeder women.
We woke up Thursday to some delicious smelling food! Mawmaw was up early cooking away. She made dumplings, casseroles, fruit salad, turnips.. Tons of yummy foods. I helped her in the kitchen all morning and at noon the family all started to arrive. Everyone brought a few dishes to compliment the amazing Turkey that Aunt Melanie cooked up! {I made the dessert, of course} it was an amazing spread!
Every single year Justin & I have a debate. Whose family makes the better Dressing.... Obviously his taste buds are broken, as he thinks his Aubt Angie makes better dressing that the dressing my Ganna makes from a recipe my Mawmaw used! This will forever be a staple to our thanksgiving and I wouldn't trade it.
We all had a wonderful meaning filling up not only on food but on each other. It was so fun seeing each other and spending that quality time together.
After stuffing our faces, it was time to take this party outside. We spent thanksgiving afternoon the same as we always do.. Outside playing football and chasing the babies around. Leighton was passed around to each of her family members and spoiled rotten. She never made a peep. Just smiled and enjoyed each new face.
After a few hours it was time to make the trip to my moms for thanksgiving dinner! My girls and I loaded up and headed to Florida after saying "see you soon" to the family. {our boys were right behind us!}
We made it to my mom's just in time to socialize with our beautiful family and indulge in yet another delicious thanksgiving feast. My mom makes the best green bean casserole. And my meme is known for her amazing rolls and cherry ham! We feasted. We danced. We were loud. We laughed. It was a wonderful time.
I loved seeing most of our family! {only missing the Holcomb side} we are so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives. Karleigh and Emmett were so well behaved, they had a great time with all of their cousins. I'm so glad they have kids their age to do life with. 💓 now we get to count down to Christmas!!
