You&Me + Three!: October 2013

Dear Karleigh.

Dear Karleigh Piper,

My sweet, darling, angel baby.. I love you so very much that sometimes it physically hurts. You are such a blessing to my life and so many others. There isn't one single day that goes by that I don't thank the good Lord for your very existence. There are a few things I want you to remember when you get older.

First, you are a beautiful soul and always have been. You went through a funny phase with your brother where you hit him in the head with toys and your hand. It wasn't really funny but now that you've out grown it and Emmett seems to be healthy despite the many whacks to the face, I can laugh. Why does this mean you have a beautiful soul? It wasn't the hitting but your reaction to his reaction. Emmett of course would cry, which in turn made you sad. You outgrew that awful phase after a few months.

You're one of the main reasons your Daddy is successful. Before you we both worked hourly crap jobs... but you can't provide the life you deserve with a crappy job barely making any money so Daddy worked his tail off until he got a new job and is able to give you the things we think you deserve. Everything we do is for you and your brother. You're our world.

You are a fire cracker! Little miss thang, you are something else. You have such a spunk to you and its so fun to watch! Sassy is a good word for you.

The other day we were playing blocks and I was nursing your brother.. you built a tall tower and you looked at me and said "MOMMY MOMMY MOMMY.. MOM MOM MOM... MAAAAAAA" until I would acknowledge your awesome tower.. then you said cheese so I could take a picture of it.

You've recently started standing up in your little seat at the table and in the bath and on the changing table and you say "DUMP" (jump).. this scares me. Each time I have a mini heart attack.. please stop.

You have an addiction to Mike & Sully from Monsters Inc.. it's excessive and I LOVE IT.

You love when I sing.. and hate when the dog barks. The other day you called me "Kayla".. My heart broke and I corrected you.. to which you replied "No, Kayla." ughhh I'm not ready for this.

Once your Daddy gets home, you only have eyes for him.. I secretly get jealous.

I'll add more to this little list of things I love about you later. <3 These past 20 months have been the best of my life and I owe it all to you. You're the greatest gift I've ever been given.

Emmett four months

4 Months old. wow. 1/3 of Emmett's first year has already happened. I'm having trouble with how fast these past few months have flown by! This big guy is rolling pretty good and developing a bigger personality! He's the definition of spoiled rotten. He's still a tiny man weighing in at 12lb 12oz and a he's grown an inch! 25.5inches long!

He gets more handsome everyday. I also get told that he's beautiful. He is. He's got the most amazing blue eyes! He's playing more with his toys and eating EVERYTHING. For the past few months he's been drooling like a faucet! He still nurses all day long & enjoys watching everyone else.

Him and sissy are quite the site. They laugh and play and he pulls her hair. She hasn't purposely hit him in quite some time. Lucky for me, I think that phase has passed. They love each other & I love watching them. I pray that they'll be best friends one day. <3

Emmett is such a happy baby. He's constantly smiling or laughing.. We have this thing where we say "BOO" and he laughs so hard.. He even does it when Karleigh says it. She likes to bring him toys and give him kisses and tell him to "shhhh."

EVERYTHING goes to Em's mouth. EVERYTHING. Even my hair. This little drooler has no teeth yet but everyone that holds him insist he's getting one.. he's not. He just likes things in his mouth.

He's most definitely a boobie baby. This month we had a little set back with him going through a leap.. He was so fussy for like 2 weeks. All he wanted was to nurse and refused sleep! This was so crazy to me because he's been sleeping through the night for quite some time. We both had a hard time.

For the last four months Emmett has screamed in his car seat every single time with leave the house. This month was no different. Maybe one day he'll like the car seat but that day hasn't come yet.

Kason and Emmett are catching up in size! My guy is such a little peanut.

First little T shirt & shorts this month!!

Emmett went to the beach for the first time this month! Sadly, it was for a friend of ours, Will Holcombe's, memorial service. He slept and watched the water and just relaxed. Not a peep out of him!

We attend church every Wednesday night & Sunday morning. Emmett has started going to the nursery while I teach my toddlers! Everyone at church adores him! He's such a sweetheart! The women all take turns passing him around and he just goes with the flow.

Emmett is finally okay with tummy time after months of hating it. He at least puts up with it and holds his body up so well! It's such a joy watching him progress and grow!

Emmett Three Months

So I'm playing catch up! I fell off the blog band wagon for a few months and I need to catch myself back up or I'll regret it one day!

We've had such a busy few months! The month that my big guy turned three months we moved! We now have a beautiful four bedroom house with a lovely pool! Emmett, of course, is too small to enjoy it but Karleigh, Daddy and I have had a blast swimming and using the slide! -I'll have another post on this new home of ours.. back to my sweet, little boy!

This month Em has blessed us by sleeping through the night! The sweet booger loves to nurse, ALL DAY LONG. He laughs when he's tickled or Karleigh plays with him! He loves looking at himself in the mirror. He's 12lbs 9oz! Such a tiny guy, just in the 25th percentile! BUT He's 24.5 inches long which is 70th percentile! He's getting stronger everyday! He's rolled from belly to back a few random times but he's too concerned with eating and watching everything to really be rolling around.

EMMETT HATES TUMMY TIME. I don't know why but he absolutely HATES it.

This month His first BOY cousin was born! Kason Michael is just 10 weeks younger than Mr. Emmett. They'll get to grow up together!

Emmett got to spend some precious time with his Meme & Mawmaw this month while I attended my best friend's wedding! It was the longest I've ever been away from him and I don't think I'll repeat that anytime in the first year. It was hard. I did take little man with me to the brunch! Everyone loved him, as always! He had lots of visitors! Including uncle Caden. Everyone loves a baby.

This month Emmett also got to watch his first Auburn game on TV. He loved it.

Watching him and Karleigh together is such a blessing! I enjoy every second of it. She still hits him, but shes getting better. She likes holding him & kissing him. I melt each time.
